Microsoft CRM 2011 ISV & Developer Whitepaper is available.

January 12, 2011 2 comments

This guide is pretty essential for serious business integrators, customizers or developpers.
It covers Business data modeling, User experience, vizualizations & reporting of data (what some of us commonly call a dashboard), Cloud services, programmability. In my sense, this is a short 31 page high level summary of what can be done with CRM 2011. Luckily, you don’t have to have a huge knowledge of the previous versions of CRM.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 ISV White Paper

One thing that I still don’t understand is that Microsoft authors are still publishing their documents in PDF! At least they should provide the documents in PDF and Word format, right?
I feel the same when I watch a video regarding SilverLight using Adobe Flash. Arrrgh 😉

Anyway enough with the negative, and go read this doc!

CRM 2011 Fully Team enabled again?

November 8, 2010 Leave a comment

It’s been a while since the CRM features related to the “Teams” wer revamped!

But finally it looks like 2011 will be the year…. 😉

  • A “Team” will be able to own records. This will certainly help make CRM more group enabled.
  • A system administrator will be able to assign security roles to a team.  (Again this will simplify administration).
  • In CRM 2011, you won’t need a developper and the sdk in order to delete a Team. Deletion of a team will be available straight from the user interface.

The new features related to teams in CRM will probably not affect desicions to move to Dynamics, but it will surely be welcome among implementors, administrators, and developpers!

Feel free to comment if you’ve heard more stuff about smalls things of CRM 2011 that were not or almost not publicized.
