Another course and soon another checkmark!

March 26, 2009 Leave a comment

Finally completed the long awaited CRM course for Customization and Configuration (Course 8912).

The course consisted of 11 modules and the manual was as thick as the previous one which was 22 modules long!

I can tell you that no matter what Microsoft says, you should really take on the first course (CRM Applications) before going on for the second one.

Again “Team IsaiX” was really shining in this course!

Team IsaiX (or the 3 CRM Dudes): Nordes, Kerby and myself…

Some areas, I learned in this course were having 3 hours long labs and “Team IsaiX” was completing them in less than half of the time. I even had the chance to challenge the instructor for a while (I kept him working on a query during the breaks for a day and a half).

During, a discussion I had with my instructor. He told me again how much business they had back in Fargo North Dakota… And he also told me that the demand for CRM specialist in Montreal as well as the eastern part of Canada was crazy. I told him that I was not going to let them steal OUR business!

What’s next?

Now I’ll be working on putting another checkmark on this chart (highlighted in yellow):

I just need to schedule the exam appointment!

Further down the road…

Next, I either go for #620 Configuring Windows Vista Client or #431 SQL Server 2005 implementation and maintenance.

The Vista one would probably be a better choice as the SQL 2005 one is about to be replaced by SQL 2008!

That’s for the MCBMSP certification track #1.

One area I am looking to improve is working towards being Microsoft MVP.

MCP Benefits

There are a lot of personal benefits of being an MCP but in my eyes the most important one is that

“You can stop guessing and googleing around and REALLY know what you’re doing”

Other include this you would offer to your “elite” or “first class” club members like:

Free e-books, free or reduced prices on software, free or reduced prices on Microsoft events and much much more.

If you read my previous post, you might have ended up on Microsoft MSDN magazine’s issue of March 2009. I may not be objective in my judgment but every month I open this magazine i find at least 3 interesting article.

Anyway, that said, i stepped on another article about usability of software.

This is a KILLER article worth to share with you:

This article covers all aspect of working with VSTS DB. Any serious user of this tool should read the ENTIRE article before making “assumptions” on how the tool should be working!
